Welcome to this series analysing innovative B2B offerings by leading telcos worldwide. In this first edition, we turn our focus to a successful software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering coming from Singapore.

Introduction to StarHub

Established in 2000, StarHub is a Singaporean triple-play operator which is also present in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand. In its domestic market, it is the second largest mobile operator with a total of 2.3 million subscribers at the end of 2024. StarHub leads the broadband and entertainment markets in Singapore.

The company’s service revenue in 2024 stood at around SGD2 billion (USD1.5 billion), equally split between its consumer and enterprise segments. Within its enterprise line of business, cybersecurity generated 20% of service revenue (up from 17.5% in 2023).

In the spotlight: Cloud Infinity SaaS

We deep-dive into one of the key services by StarHub – Cloud Infinity. Since inception as an in-house horizontal cloud platform at the start of 2023, it quickly expanded into a wider suite of offerings covering connectivity, cloud, cybersecurity and content. The platform has transformed StarHub into a marketplace for connectivity and services in Singapore, all the while sovereignty is centred as a key differentiator.

Cloud Infinity SaaS helps StarHub fulfil all four principles of the platform mindset: customer-centric, flexible and scalable, multipurpose and bringing beneficial network effects.
