Many players, including telcos, network equipment providers, systems integrators, private network specialists and more, could benefit from the growth in private networks, but they need to understand where they can fit in the ecosystem and how to address this complex market.
In this updated forecast, STL Partners has included a new breakdown showing which use cases are going to be driving growth, as enterprises gain more benefits from private network investments.
High-level findings from the model indicate that:
- The total private networks addressable market will grow from USD1 billion in 2024 to USD21 billion in 2030, at a CAGR of 61% over the forecast period.
- This growth is driven by the increased number of enterprises that adopt private network solutions as well as the higher spend on applications, as enterprise explore more use cases beyond basic connectivity.
- Verticals such as manufacturing, extractive industries, transport and logistics are leading the adoption worldwide as their security demands, complex environment and mission critical applications benefit significantly from private networks solutions.
- Adoption varies significantly among geographical regions. This regional disparity is influenced by several factors including the level of industrial development, spectrum regulations and the availability of private network spectrum, the level of demand from the enterprise sector, and the available solutions from telcos and other service providers. Regions with lower takeup today will see more growth in future.
