Exploring how telcos are servicing SMB cybersecurity needs in North America
Small and medium businesses (SMBs) are aware of the cybersecurity services offered by telcos and are open to purchasing from them. But what exactly are telcos providing to SMBs from a cybersecurity standpoint?
This report examines how major North American telcos are positioning their cybersecurity propositions for SMBs. Taking the perspective of an SMB buyer, it draws on publicly available information from telco websites to evaluate the breadth and depth of their offerings.
Each telco is assessed holistically on its overall strategy. We highlight the telco’s strengths and areas where its approach could be enhanced. In addition, we identify partner vendors where this information is publicly disclosed.
STL Partners’ SMB survey, conducted in December 2024, pointed to a growing cybersecurity opportunity and confirmed that telcos have a credible role to play. This report helps them to understand the competition and adjust their product propositions for success.
