At its September 2025 analyst event, Amdocs outlined how it is transforming to support its view of where the telecom industry will go next, particularly in the context of AI, and demonstrated a techco playbook of change. What can telcos learn from its approach?

In this edition, we present the main takeaways from Amdocs’ analyst event held in the UK in September, including the company’s vision to embrace AI transformation and prepare for the future telco needs.
Amdocs is transforming itself to serve telecommunication companies of the future, anticipating how developments in data and AI, for example, will evolve to shape new telco cost optimisation and revenue generation initiatives. It is gearing up to unlock new avenues for Amdocs’ own growth in its traditional software related arena, and beyond (e.g., system integration and consulting).
The transformation initiatives unveiled at its analyst event in September 2025 highlight several lessons for telcos that are leveraging AI in their own transformations. Amdocs’ approach largely follows three broad principles:
- Focus on customer needs – and be ready to adapt to their future needs, without buying into any one technology too deeply.
- Re-imagine workflows with generative AI (GenAI), understand the role of AI agents and their impact on the workforce.
- Focus on growth from innovation, not cost reduction, striving to do more with the same, not the same with less. Amdocs acknowledges that AI may not result in reduced operating costs, even if headcount is reduced (AI carries its own costs). AI must add real value.
