Global Technology Company
The cloud marketplace has become increasingly competitive, with internet & tech players investing billions in an “arms race” to create massively-scaled cloud services. To continue to play in this market cloud providers need to differentiate in order to work with or compete against the hyperscale players. One form of differentiation is to provide cloud services at a sovereign level, ensuring that potentially sensitive data is kept locally. As recent legal and market developments show the potential importance of more sovereign solutions, cloud providers will need to understand how they fit into this new market landscape.
STL completed a geographic and vertical industry assessment of data sovereignty requirements globally. This involved legal analysis and interviews with 30 companies from different verticals operating in different markets across the globe. Furthermore STL analysed and sized the potential demand for sovereign cloud solutions regionally and by industry vertical.
The client gained significant insight into the addressable market for sovereign cloud solutions, allowing them to redefine their business proposition.
We used our analytical rigour to break-down the problem and develop an approach to comprehensively assess requirements globally and across different verticals in a short time-frame.
